ItterswillerThe village, which is spread out over a slope flooded with sunlight, on the Emmebuckel (Bee mountain) is a prestigious gastronomic stopping-off point with some superb views

In Roman times, Itterswiller was called Itineris Villa and vines were already being grown here. Its exceptional wines, including the

" Fruehmess ", elegantly fruity, confirm that renown even today.

This wine-growing village has made the best of its exceptional situation, attracting tourists by the creation of services (accommodation, restaurants and shopping) and by the restoration and decoration of private buildings and public areas.
Itterswiller can also be proud of having obtained a distinction in the national towns and villages in bloom competition, namely 4 flowers.

Twinning ITTERSWILLER / ILE DE BREHAT

This twinning was formalised on 5 October 1975 with the signing of a charter stating a twinning oath taken between the small wine-growing village of Itterswiller and the small Breton island of Bréhat in the Côtes d'Armor region.
The beautiful Breton island and the delightful flowered village (4 flowers in the national competition) Itterswiller on the Mont des Abeilles (Bee mountain) have since then enjoyed a special relationship.
Annual exchanges of oysters or seafood and Riesling, school exchanges, get-togethers between friends from here and there, official reunions organised every 5 years by the twinning committee.

In June 2000, grand reunion in Itterswiller to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the twinning. A new high point in the relationship between the two towns : Itterswiller on the prestigious Alsatian Wine Road and gastronomic centre, Bréhat, the flower-filled pink granite island : 276 inhabitants on the one hand, 450 inhabitants on the other, but thousands of visitors to both.
Two tourist destinations, two marvellous sites, delightfully complementary. A lasting, warm-hearted friendship.
